WDAV 89.9 – a Classical Public Radio Station is located in Davidson, North Carolina. WDAV is a noncommercial, listener-supported public radio service qualified by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. This station is owned by Davidson College. WDAV serves the Charlotte, North Carolina market with classical music and fine arts programming 24 hours each day. WDAV has two purposes, first of all is to provide a high quality classical music and cultural arts programming service and second, to support the activities of local arts organizations and artists. A lot of air time and staff resources are devoted to creating “a community of the arts”. WDAV broadcasts locally recorded concerts and cultural events and activities of area arts organizations.
In 2004 WDAV 89.9 produces first series of Main Street Sessions recorded live in Clark Performance Studio.
In 2005 WDAV 89.9 began transmitting HD (digital) radio signal.
