WCBUWCBU 89.9 FM is a radio station in Peoria, Illinois. The station is a listener-supported, non-commercial. It is owned by Bradley University in Peoria. WCBU is a National Public Radio affiliate and is located on Bradley’s campus. WCBU‘s broadcast schedule includes locally produced and hosted classical music programming, interviews, and information about music and internationally renowned orchestras, operas. WCBU brings listeners wonderful programs such as Sunday Baroque, Prairie Home Companion, Music from the Heartland and Chicago Symphony Orchestra every Monday night. Music from the Heartland provides local operas, orchestras, and vocal ensembles. The program broadcasts Wednesday and Sunday nights, and it is hosted by Terry Solomonson. WCBU broadcasts locally-hosted classical music every weekday, hosted by Lee Wenger and Nathan Irwin.
In 2007, WCBU created a second channel, WCBU2, to listeners with HD radios. If WCBU is transmiting a news or talk show, WCBU2 would be airing music, and vice versa.
