WIAA 88.7 FM – Washington Interscholastic Activities Association is a radio station in Northern Michigan. WIAA is one of four stations of Interlochen Public Radio (IPR). This station is operated by the Interlochen Center for the Arts and its studios are on the center’s campus in Interlochen, Michigan. WIAA began broadcasting in 1963 at 88.3 FM and in 1985, the station moved to 88.7 FM. WIAA is committed to providing classical music and other fine arts programming to entertain, inform and enrich Northern Michigan region. WIAA strives to provide the best and broadest selection of classical music and fine arts programming heard in the country.
WIAA repeats its programming on WICV (100.9 FM) in East Jordan and WIAB (88.5 FM) in Mackinaw City. WIAA programming is also heard in Manistee, Michigan, on translator station W273BO at 102.5 FM, which is owned by Radio Assist Ministry and also since 2000 WIAA has a translator station in Traverse City.
