WBLU-FM 88.9 FM – Blue Lake Public Radio is a radio station in the Grand Rapids / Muskegon, Michigan area. WBLU-FM is one of two stations, which collectively known as “Blue Lake public Radio”, it is a non-commercial, public radio facility, owned and operated by the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and funded by grants and contributions from national, regional, and local sources, including foundations, businesses, and individual listeners. WBLU simulcasts WBLV (the second “Blue Lake Public Radio”) programming and serves the entire Grand Rapids metropolitan area.
WBLV and WBLU are West Michigan’s only stations playing Classical Music, with National Public Radio News, Jazz, Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion”, and other fine programming, such as Metropolitan Opera, the Chicago Symphony, the Detroit Symphony, and WBLU‘s schedule also includes a number of unique programs Classics in the Classroom, the Grand Rapids Symphony and West Shore Symphony Orchestra. Blue Lake Public Radio, “Classics in the Classroom”, a program that helps teachers integrate classical music education into their regular classroom activities through scheduled broadcasts of basic repertoire.
