KUAT-FM 90.5 FM serves the Tucson, Arizona, metropolitan area. KUAT-FM is a radio station operated out of the University of Arizona. It operates at 90.5 FM and on K209AF 89.7 FM (89.7 has a weaker signal than 90.5) with a classical format. KUAT-FM began broadcasting in 1975 in classical format and as a National Public Radio affiliate. KUAT-FM helps keep the arts thriving in our community by making wonderful classical music accessible to all. KUAT broadcasts programs such as Metropolitan Opera, The Cast. The Metropolitan Opera’s 78th season continues on Classical KUAT-FM on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with a performance of Mozart’s The Magic Flute in an abbreviated one-act “family production.” KUAT Classical broadcasts timeless music and exceptional specials like Community Concerts, a series of recitals and concerts recorded live in Southern Arizona.
