WKAR is a radio station in East Lansing, Michigan. WKAR-FM is a public radio station, which broadcasts on 90.5 FM. WKAR-FM began broadcasting in 1948 as the Lansing area’s first FM station. WKAR classical radio station is owned by Michigan State University.
WKAR-FM primarily features classical music and several of National Public Radio’s more popular programs. WKAR‘s classical broadcasts are the most appealing classical music from every era, with special emphasis on new releases and music of timely interest. Great works – broadcast complete – by the foremost composers are complemented by intriguing discoveries from the past and certainly the best of today’s compositions.
