WABE 90.1 FM is a radio station in Atlanta, Georgia. The station is licensed to the Atlanta Board of Education. WABE began broadcasting in 1948. WABE became a Charter Member of National Public Radio (NPR) in 1971. In 1982 WABE‘s the educational programs began broadcasting on a separate sub-carrier portion of the FM 90 signal, WABE started broadcasting NPR News and classical music programming twenty-four hours a day. WABE FM serves as a news, classical music and other fine arts programming for more than 2.5 million listeners.
WABE‘s schedule also includes a number of unique programs produced in its own studios, such as Between the Lines, Spivey Soiree, Atlanta Music Scene, and Tapestry.
WABE 90.1 FM  is member-supported public radio.
