KVPR – Valley Public Radio is also known as FM89, it is a public radio organization in Fresno, California. In 1975, several people formed White Ash Broadcasting in order to bring a public radio station to the Central Valley. Valley Public Radio consists of two FM stations – KVPR in Fresno (89.3 mHz) and satellite station KPRX in Bakersfield (89.1 mHz). The two stations’ combined signal reaches Fresno, Bakersfield, Visalia, Madera, Tulare, Clovis, Merced, and Hanford. KVPR broadcasts news, music, public affairs programs.
In 1994 it was the first broadcast of Just the Good Parts. This is a collaborative effort between the Fresno Philharmonic and Valley Public Radio. The host of this program is conductor Raymond Harvey. “Just the Good Parts” explores the music to be performed in the upcoming concert at the Philharmonic. This program is a recurring series during the Philharmonic concert season.
From 2000 the station has a website www.kvpr.org.
From 2002 FM89 begins live web streaming on the Internet during 24-hour. From 2008 KVPR is fully operational with HD-2 programming in place. 

 
Examples of programs: Sunday Baroque (every Sunday from 10am to Noon); Music to Midnight (Saturdays from 8pm to midnight) ; The Intersection: Where Jazz meets the Classics (New programs on Mondays at 8pm, and repeats on Friday evenings at 10pm).
