WNYCWNYC 93.9 FM and 820 AM is a public radio station in New York City, New York. WNYC FM began broadcasting in 1922 and WNYC AM started two years later in 1924. WNYC is broadcasted from lower Manhattan. The station transmits nationally-syndicated news and culture programming and its Internet radio broadcasts. WNYC provides news programs,interviews with musicians, critics, journalists, live musical performances in mix of genres, including indie rock, jazz, classical, and world music. WNYC radio personalities include Margaret Juntwait, an announcer and classical music host and John Schaefer, a music show host.
WNYC‘s station helps keep the arts thriving in our community by making wonderful classical music accessible to all. WNYC‘s schedule also includes a number of unique programs produced in its own studios, such as Concerts from the Frick Collection, Evening Music with David Garland. Concerts from the Frick Collection is New York debuts of nationally and internationally acclaimed classical musicians in partnership with the Frick Collection.
