KFUO 99.1 FM KFUO 99.1 FM plays classical music as “Classic 99 KFUO-FM”. KFUO began broadcasting in 1948. Studios of KFUO are located on the campus of Concordia Seminary. KFUO is owned and operated by the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. Its transmitter is located in St. Louis.
KFUO began as a listener supported station, but moved to a commercial format several years ago. KFUO provides comprehensive classical music programming, combining original productions, distinctive specialty programs, live concert presentations and the talents of local and nationally-recognized hosts. KFUO-FM schedule also includes a number of unique programs produced in its own studios, such as Classic Kids, High School Classics.
Classic Kids broadcasts every Saturdays at 10 am.
It is a special progam for kids of all ages, hosted by Jim Althoff. Classic Kids mixes music and stories in a way that kids get familiar with classical pieces of music while following the story. All the program focuses on the music itself. The program is always accessible, interesting, entertaining, it will be also intresting for moms and dads.
